Got a little tired of people portraying All Might and Present Mic as idiots, so I decided to put together a few of the character stat sheets from the My Hero Academia “Official Character Book.”
Most of the stats will probably not come as a surprise, as it is usually fairly obvious from the show how powerful, cooperative, speedy, etc., a hero is. However, it can be harder to gauge intelligence. That is why I have put the stat sheets in order from least to most intelligent.
The ratings are out of 5, so you could say that 5/5 is the high rating, and 6/5 is genius level.
Mount Lady: 2/5
Ectoplasm: 3/5
Best Jeanist: 3/5
Kamui Woods: 3/5
Midnight: 3/5
Vlad King: 3/5
Power Loader: 4/5
Snipe: 4/5
Thirteen: 4/5
Gran Torino: 4/5
Eraserhead: 4/5
Endeavor: 4/5
Recovery Girl: 5/5
Cementoss: 5/5
Present Mic: 5/5
Principal Nezu: 6/5
All Might: 6/5
All for One: 6/5
Some observations:
-Eraserhead has above average intelligence. Present Mic has even higher intelligence. All Might is a genius. So! The fanon idea that Shouta is the “smart one” who has to lead around his stupid friends/colleagues Hizashi and Toshinori is false FALSE FALSE!
-It’s also interesting to note that Midnight is less intelligent than Shouta or Hizashi.
-Sadly, we don’t have the stats for Sir Nighteye or Dave (so far as I know), but I would assume they would also be 6/5. Which means that they would be on the same level as Toshinori, not the geniuses to Toshinori’s dumbass. Which makes sense, for Dave and Nighteye to be drawn to someone else so intelligent.
-All Might, All for One and Nezu are all given the same intelligence rating. Nezu’s quirk is literally for him to have intelligence superior to a human’s, so I was a little surprised. I guess that just means superior to an average or even somewhat gifted human’s intelligence, not to a genius human. Makes sense upon reflection, as I would expect that Nezu would not be smarter than All for One, and All Might would need to be able to keep up with AFO’s smarts to pose such a threat to him.
-Gran Torino, who makes cracks about how Toshinori’s body was the only thing he had going for him, is two levels lower than Toshinori on the intelligence scale. Hmmmmmmmmmmmmmm. It seems that this is just one more way that Sorahiko is too hard on Toshinori.
-Endeavor is less intelligent than All Might. He’s at the same level as Eraserhead and Gran Torino, so above average, but not a genius. This is especially interesting to me as Enji also makes cracks about Toshinori’s intelligence, although there is some indication that he believes All Might acts stupid, but that it’s just an act.
-It makes even more sense that Toshinori has difficulty teaching. Aside from not having experience or training in teaching, Toshinori is a legit genius. It can be hard for someone that smart to teach, because they might not understand why other people don’t just get things. I think we definitely see that in the instances when he expects Midoriya to catch onto things as quickly and intuitively as he did, and then Toshinori struggles to know what to do/how to explain when Midoriya doesn’t.
I’m going to make a separate post with the students’ stats, but just for comparison, both Midoriya and Bakugou are a 4/5 for intelligence. Above average, but not genius level.
-Now, is it possible that the intelligence rating includes both IQ and knowledge level, so that the rating might increase over time? Well, I don’t think so, as it can’t be that Midoriya and Bakugou already have as much knowledge as Aizawa, and I really don’t think that Aizawa would be a bit of a dumbass in either IQ or knowledge level so that their ratings would come out to the same. Therefore, I think the intelligence rating probably refers only to IQ. Tell me if anyone knows different, but that is my theory at this present time.
-I expected that Present Mic and Recovery Girl would turn out to be highly intelligent, but I had no idea that Cementoss was on their level. Interesting!
-Mount Lady is kind of an airhead LOL
-The sadly popular idea that Toshinori is sweet and cute but not all that bright, and that he basically gets along because of his powerful quirk and charismatic presence alone, is….*drum roll*…incorrect.
-All Might is not the “dumb jock” of the story, he’s the genius jock. The nerd-jock-prom king. The total package, which is why he’s so intimidating. His stats are off the chart, all across the board, and he’s got good looks and extreme heroic virtue, besides. No wonder there was such a gap between him and the rest of the heroes. Good luck, Izuku, that’s a hell of a lot to live up to.
